By Train

    Bus

    Inter-city buses arrive and depart from a variety of stations around the Ho Chi Minh City. Cholon bus station is the best place to avail buses to My Tho and other Mekong Delta towns. The Cholon bus station is one street north of the sprawling Binh Tay Market.

    Availing bus in Mien Tay bus station is not that convenient as getting into buses from Cholon. However Mien Tay has even more buses which depart daily to areas south of Ho Chi Minh City. This huge station is about 10 kilometers west of Ho Chi Minh City in An Lac, a part of Binh Chanh district. Buses and minibuses from Mien Tay serve most towns in the Mekong Delta.

    Buses moving to the north of Ho Chi Minh City leave from Mien Dong bus station in Binh Thanh district about 5 kilometers from central Ho Chi Minh City.

    Buses to Tay Ninh, Cu Chi and points northeast of Ho Chi Minh City depart from the Tay Ninh bus station, in Tan Binh district west of the center.

    Train

    Trains mainly serve from the Saigon train station. The train services include the Reunification Express to Hanoi and serve cities along the coast north of Ho Chi Minh City.

    Ferry

    Ferry services are widely availed in Ho Chi Minh City. Cargo ferries bound for the Mekong Delta depart from the dock at the river end of DL Ham Nghi. There is a daily service to the provinces of An Giang and Vinh Long and to the towns of Ben Tre which takes about 8 hours to reach. Ca Mau is 30 hours away and departs once every 4 days. My Tho takes 6 hours to reach. Travelers need to buy tickets on boats. Simple food at times may be available on board. These ancient vessels lack the most elementary safety gear, such as life jackets. So passengers need to be careful while traveling on a boat.

    Day 1: Hanoi – Hai Phong – Cat Ba Island [../ L / D ]
    5:30 – Depart from your hotel in Hanoi for Hai Phong City then take express boat to Cat Ba Island; arrive in Cat Ba Island at about 10:00am. Transfer across the island to the dock and board a small boat to Cruise to our private base camp. You’ll enjoy a lunch of savory fresh local sea food. After lunch your guide will give you full instruction on the gear and safety, show you the basic paddle strokes and tell you about your paddling route. Then he’ll gear you up for an afternoon of exploration! Return back to the base camp for a fresh water shower and a great dinner before retiring to your cozy hut for the night.

    Day2: Whole day kayaking [B / L/ D ] Whole day paddling and exploring the Bay at your own pace, while having a closer look at the amazing karsts. You’ll explore some of the many caves that lead to stunning lagoons, paddle to some floating villages to see this unique way of life, and stop to chill out at one of the many beaches here. You’ll be met by a support boat which you’ll board to enjoy lunch before you continue paddling in the afternoon. Cruise back to the base camp for dinner. Enjoy another relaxing night at the base camp.

    Day 3: Bay Kayaking – Cat Ba Island – Hai Phong – Hanoi [B / L/ .. ]
    Our base camp is staffed by friendly locals who’ll cook you up a hardy breakfast before you head out for the morning to explore more of the amazing karst limestone formations and grottos. Return to the base camp for lunch where you can relax on the beach, throw around the Frisbee and take a swim. Cruise back to Cat Ba Island, ferry to Hai Phong then drive to Hanoi; arrive about 7:30pm. Trip ends in Hanoi.

    As the chief Airport in Hue, the Phu Bai Airport is said to be upgraded to have 2,800 kilometers of 45 meters wide runway with lights to serve the night flights. The Hue city hopes to welcome large-sized airplanes like, Boeing 767s or similar ones by the year 2010 and the airport serves about one million passengers per year.

    About 50,000 tones of goods will be traveling by 2010 and 100,000 tones of goods by 2020. The capital for upgrading the Phu Bai Airport is expected to reach hundreds of billions of dong. In the year 2006, the airport served 2,327 flights and 428,000 passengers.

    As the airport in Hue, Phu Bai Airport is located just south of the central city of Hue, the former capital of Vietnam. The Phu Bai Airport officially welcomed its first international flight since it was allowed to receive international flights by the Government in 2002. The charter flight operated by the Austrian Airlines carried Austrian tourists from Luang Prabang in Laos to the city of Hue.

    In May 24, 2007, the Changi Airports International has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the People’s Committee of Thua Thien for the development of Phu Bai International Airport. The Phu Bai airport fields daily flights to and from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Hue.
